MaSTech: An on-line community to support preservice and new teachers of middle grades mathematics and science

چکیده

MaSTech was designed to connect middle grades mathematics preservice teachers and beginning teachers with their peers as well as with university education supervisors and two graduates students experienced in teaching mathematics. Its purpose was to provide a forum for peer-mediated learning and to promote effective problem-solving among preservice teachers and beginning teachers. The study examined the impact of participating in such a forum; a variety of findings that may provide guidance for others are reported.
